    Re: We're not so weird...

I heard of a rich person who collects Frank Lloyd Write houses...mandolins are kinda tame:popcorn:

Check out Apitius' take on scroll blocks...it's in his blog...definitely not solid, and definitely contributing to his F magic!

    Re: Mandolin Stand Recommendations

The Hercules stand is the only stand I know of the "grabs" the neck automatically.

    BTW, I'm hoping for reincarnation, not temporary...just a phase:mandosmiley:

    Re: K&K for mandolin

    Consider the tapastring endpin.
I have 1/4 through tail blocks on both my mandolins...not sure what is so scary about it, though I didn't do it myself, had the luthier do the dangerous work.

I have Spotify, it has a great folk, bg, and historical collection. Some unique stuff is not present though. Overall I'm blown away.

    Re: Mandolin Stand Recommendations

Except for Hercules stands, it seems all stands want to smash your axe.
  8. Re: How did you feel about your new build Mando?

I have had that experience twice. Each time I was concerned about how much money had been spent and my lack of wow factor. My Weber has a Port Orford Cedar top and seemed to take several years to...

Re: 2006 a Golden Year for Webers?

No, mine is custom for me. It has a great tone, Orford Cedar top, but not Bluegrassy. More modern and mellow than needed for my work in a bg band.
Some pics of mine were featured in some of the...

I got John Reichmann to do a test drive video for me when I got my new mando! I was super fun. Who are you courting?

    Re: Strap Locks

I use two techniques to deal with this...
I put my strap on the button wet and let the leather shrink back to fit tight on the tiny shoulder of the end pin jack.
    I religiously use the StrapJack...

When you going to post a sound sample?
The silking on the top in the closeup looks so cool!
    Happy pickin!

Do sun shirts work? Yes! I work 200 days a year outside. My work uniform is essentially fishing guide clothes. I never burn. They are also mosquito proof!

Re: Mandolin sound changing over time
