  1. Re: Somewhere between a ukulele and a mandolin...

I've played one my daughter's cellos like that from time to time. The whole fretless thing is a challenge for me.
  2. Somewhere between a ukulele and a mandolin...

If you cross a ukulele with a mandolin, you might end up with one of these. ;)

Re: Ellis F5 Reserve in Classifieds

I don't deserve it, but as soon as I cash in my Lotto ticket, I'm buying this Ellis and a new house with a wrap-around porch from where I can play it.

    I love the tortoise binding.

    Re: Dokofest blytheood SC.

I used to live just down the road from Blythewood. I'd do anything to get back there and plant my roots again.

Re: An Affordable Stradivarius at Auction

It would make a great key fob for the Vanquish, if it didn't already have the fanciest fob available.

Re: What do ya'll call your mandos?

I call my Ibanez Mandy Lynn, but hopefully soon I can call her "sold".

My Morris is named Bonnie, short for Bonnie Blue.

If I had A Gibson Lloyd Loar mandolin, I would brag about how I bought it from a thrift store for $75.

Kind of hard to go wrong for $99. and it beat knocking around your Silverangel or Morris. (I'm getting a Morris too and I plan to keep my Ibanez around just for that purpose.)

    Re: Ibanez 510

I have the matte or "open pore" version and my wife has the dark violin sunburst gloss finish. My ears are not attuned to detect the subtleties in sound, but I will say that hers looks nicer in terms...
