    Re: R L Givens

I also know this is an old thread but I thought it would be of interest to know where this R. L. Givens A6 is now. It is in my possession here in Virginia. Just acquired from Greg Boyd in Missoula.

    Re: Lefties Who Play Righty?

I am an old lefty (eating, writing etc) who plays (music and sports) righty. As a child I was not pressured into or away from either handedness, I just used what was available and followed the crowd....

    Re: Microphone mute switch

I use the Radial Big Shot I/O. Pass two instruments through and select A or B or Mute. Simple passive switch. You can always add phantom power after the switch.

    Re: TOH Weber warranty

Sorry I can not agree that the new owners of the brand, in this case TOH, can expect to derive the goodwill from that brand name and abdicate any and all responsibility to purchasers of the product...

    Re: TOH Weber warranty

When you "buy" a brand name and decide to abandon the warranty obligations you assumed when you bought that brand name your true character becomes obvious. FWIW I would not trust a company like that...

Check out the Shure Motiv MV88. Works with the iPhone. I use it instead of my Zoom H6.

    Try these:
Thomastik-Infeld Mandolin Flat Wound 34 cm Stark. Expensive but they are bassy.

    Re: Bruce Weber bridge

I have one on my Yellowstone HT F and am very happy with it. I have tried others but keep coming back to this bridge.

Re: Facing the cold hard truth

Being a 71 year old, lifetime guitar player that picked up mandolin some 8 years ago I can understand the OPs dilemma. I will never have the right hand technique to be really "good" at the mandolin...

    Re: Yet Another Tone-Gard Post

So??? All beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i like how my mandolin sounds with the Tone_Gard installed better than I do without. Placebo effect, possibly. If so, guilty as charged. If nothing...

    Re: Budapest/Czech Republic

Check out Lee Bidgood's book, Czech Bluegrass. Not a resource for current jams but an interesting read about Bluegrass as it's evolved in the Czech Republic.

I used to use the DPA setup but couldn't keep from bumping it with my right hand. So I went with this from Naiant.com

I have that exact combo with thinsulate and leather handle. It houses my 1967 D28. Just try and rip it out of my cold dead hands.

I use the TC Polytune Clip and am very happy with it. As the newer clip on tuners go it's a little large but easy to see and very responsive.

    Re: digital mixers

One note to add to this. On the Ui12/16 you are not actually dependent on WiFi only. You can use a laptop and connect to the Ethernet port. I have done that and its solid as a rock.

Re: amazing slow downer on DVD songs?

I'm not sure about this but I think if you try AnyTune you can do the slow down thing on any tune in your iTunes library.
    Just a thought.

I use the Radial BigShot I/O True Bypass Selector Switch. I like the mute switch to keep any changes I may have to make silent.
