My best to all you guys out there in Montana; I can't wait to see what comes next.
I'm looking for (more) pickers out here; hello out there... wanna jam?
:whistling:
I don't know if I've ever met a good builder who didn't tell me that he or she was always trying to improve, and I've met a lot of great builders.
oooooooooooooooooo..........
I remember that one.
Really well.
Here, here.
Every one of Bruce & Co.'s instruments I've played since I got my job there in 2006 has been a keeper at worst, and mind-altering at best. There are a handful of mandolins that went...
I'll be in MT most any time. You can PM me for pickin' too.
Mike-
The back is from a maple tree from a neighbor's property on Bainbridge Island, WA where I grew up. The top is Red Spruce. The inlay is inspired by Wanda Lobito, who made a pin for my...
What?
There are no capable words to thank the folks at Weber for this instrument. It is as powerful as it is musical, and the inlay (thank you, Bruce & Vern) and materials hold a personal significance to...
Trace Elliott Velocette, or the post-buyout Gibson Goldtone in the 15-watt variety.
Simply gorgeous tone.
Mine looks the same, minus 150 pounds.
If you want weird, I'm going to post something that will definitely make you laugh.
I am happily back in Montana. I saw some amazing things on that trip, in Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Wyoming. The Oregon Trail looks a lot different when you're headed west. Coming back home to...
Yeah, thanks for that call, Brett. You really know how to rub it in.
:)) :)) :)) :))
I tend to gravitate toward phosphor for my mando, mostly because I like the balance between bright and dark tone.
:disbelief:
If you saw even the most minute gap in my kitchen cabinetry on one of your instruments, you'd have a warranty issue for sure. Also, nobody ever says the panels on their drawers make...
Huh. The picture in the far bottom right on that page you linked to contains the mando you were looking for...
I have a nice mandolin. Real nice.
The one you're describing makes me jealous.
Style B medium. Sounds... well... "rad."
One of my fondest memories is the look on everyone's face at break when you distressed the top point on the headstock. When I think of that, I always laugh out loud.
I thought it did.
Both Brett and I think that's possibly one of the best mandolins ever. If I had a new one BTO, I'd do the exact same spec.

Goodbye, Butch.
:(
One month to go, and I can't wait to get back home; both for the studio and the beverages.
I can't. I don't think there were any pictures taken of that mando when it was finished. You should as Tony at Weber.
