    Re: 3 old tenors

vintage 0-18t's are nice but do not sound any better than mine. I get to compare them almost daily and I don't have to deal with the cracks and resets.

Re: Nylon strings on Blueridge BR40T?

thank you for your kind offer. I am so happy with my set-up, I doubt I'll ever change. You are dead right about the durability of the T-I strings. I have many extra singles but I have only changed...

Re: Nylon strings on Blueridge BR40T?

If a flat pick, jigs and reels are what you play, this thread makes less sense but for a ukulele player, they really work. Also,...

Re: Nylon strings on Blueridge BR40T?

Re: GDAE steel string Baritone ukulele

my tenor guitar "custom" set uses .028 and .023 silk and steel D and G strings. It's an 0-18t Martin and braced for steel so I'm sure I'm under-powering it but I like the sound. I might try the...

Re: GDAE steel string Baritone ukulele

I've been using the Thomastik-Infeld wound nylon tape strings in my Chicago tuned tenor guitar. They have enough tension to drive the top and give lots of volume. I use the .024 and .016 for my B...

    Re: Flourocarbon Stinrgs?

Thomastik-Infeld strings are wound nylon tape on rope core. the tension, while high for a nylon string is still much easier to fret. at .016 and .024 for the E and B, they are much thinner without...

    Re: Flourocarbon Stinrgs?

my banjo is a small 5 string with a 10" pot and a 19" scale. I use Aquila Baritone ukulele strings on it, tuned GDGBE. It is very loud. My 0-18t is one of the Elderly 40 year anniversary custom...

    Re: Flourocarbon Stinrgs?

"standard nylon strings are not going to drive the sound board satisfactorily on a tenor guitar, braced for steel strings. They are too thick to fit the nut slots"

    all this is true...but!...
