The only thing I wish is that the picks would have some sort of logo on them identifying them as "Apollo" picks. Nik is a one man operation so perhaps that would just add to the cost of production.

I just received my Apollo "PEEK" pick today, style F 1.25 mm (although it actually comes in at 1.2). Over all I am quite impressed. The finish is very nice and the tone is click free. It sounds a lot...
Buck, just out of curiosity, what is the thickness of the Apollo casein pick you are using?
Nice wood in that Richmond!
I Just got shipping conformation from Nick today. Looking forward to trying it.

I wonder if that is a repurposed viola neck attached to the body? That might explain the ebony "button graft".
It would also help with the discrepancy I see with the skill of the scroll carving...
Add a Gilchrist, Ellis A-Deluxe, Elkhorn and A couple of Zetas. :mandosmiley:
It is cool funk none the less.
The scroll looks nicely carved, the sound holes are too crude for Rocca. I doubt it will ever be attributed to a specific maker.

Ordering one tomorrow. Looking forward to see how it is different from the BC I have but do not care for.
Joe, I included a Wegen in the second envelope I sent. Hopefully you will get them in a timely manner.
Gee Zack, thats not even enough for a six pack of beer! What did the winner get? $15.oo?
Zach, I did all the work myself, so not a whole lot into it. I also sold off an Eastman 314 that I tweaked a bit at the same time, they were good mandolins but the Girouard was calling my name. It's...
Zach, yes I did! A barley played Girouard F-5 came up at a great price so I sold off a few mandolins to make the purchase. The guy who bought the 315 was thrilled to get the upgrades at no additional...
Small pair of wire cutters, string winder, small bag of picks for back up, two digital tuners(one with a dead battery), spare set of strings. I remember when decades ago the little compartment would...
Quite some time ago, I bought a couple of cigar boxes from a flea market, mostly to store small parts. I had one left over so I decided to make a mandolin out of it. Fully lined with kerfing, induced...
That would exceed the cost of the mandolin! :whistling:
Truth be told tho, When I had my 315, in addition to a CA bridge I upgraded the tuners to Grovers and installed an Allen tailpiece I had...
Beautiful! Interesting look with the sunburst top and natural back and sides.
Man, there are two A models by Apitius, one by Duff and a Monteleone "Radio Flyer" in the classifieds today. :mandosmiley:
Nice, what kind of mandolin is Jackson playing?
Video is not playing.
