Re: Alternate Reality Fender Tenor Tele

I had my middle position swapped (after I made my review) to the beefier sound, much improved in my opinion, but I know some folks like the way that middle position sounds normally. Series and...

He supplied his own bridge for you to affix to the instrument?

    Thanks,

  3. Re: New Session King guitar-octave mandolin on the bench

Beautiful instrument! Seems like you've got a pretty wide saddle on there. I'm assuming thats for intonation flexibility. Do you find that the width of the saddle has any effect on tone?

    Thanks,...

Re: Are tenor guitars slightly evil?

Guilty as charged, especially if you count up the number of mandolins I own compared to the number of tenor guitars!

    Thanks,

  7. An (incomplete) list of recorded black mandolinists

I searched for this on the cafe and there doesn't seem to be a resource for learning about black mandolinists of past and present. I dug up what I could, but would love to learn more. Here is what...

Keep an eye on Reverb! They are already showing up on the used market, albeit at new prices.

  13. Tunes At Home: Music In A Time Of Need

Hi All! Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, many of our dear friends have had shows, tours, and project cancelled. This is a huge hit to those who depend on this work for a living. To this end,...
  14. Re: Anyone have information on this very unique bowlback?

I totally agree, they are meant to be played. It also makes sense to know what it is worth so the player can decide for themselves and have a sense of its value and importance, which can help with...

  18. Anyone have information on this very unique bowlback?

Re: Alternate Reality Fender Tenor Tele

Old Town Music in Portland OR has a new blue one in stock, they don’t want to deal with shipping, but if anyone is in the northwest s as nd looking for one, thought I’d point it out!

  20. Re: string gauges for 23" scale electric OM?

I’m using 46 32 22 12, which is about as heavy as I’d want to go. I also drop to FCGD with those gauges and it still sounds and feels great.

    Thanks,

  23. Re: What under $1200 used tenors would you look at?

I'd keep your eyes out for a players grade pre 1967 0-18T. Set up ebay and reverb alerts and put a wanted ad in the classifieds here and on UMGF. They're out there, and I think the spruce topped...

Re: What's The One That Got Away?
