Re: Gibson destroys hundreds of Firebird X's

That was no leak. You don't gimmick up the destroying of inventory by using a piece of heavy equipment unless you want the publicity.

    Re: Luthiers in Atlanta?

Tom Haywood does great work and if you see him on a Friday, you can probably go to a jam. (At least, I did the last time I was there.) :)

Re: D'Addario Micro Tuner - My Review.

Yeah, Duck Tape is a brand name for duct tape. Duct tape is for, are you ready for this?, taping ducts. However, here in the South, it's used for everything from first aid to major auto repair.

Re: arthritis in my left hand

There are lots of things to try. Some work, some don't. I, too, think it depends on the individual, like kjbllc said. Some of the off-beat things should probably be run by the doctor and remember,...

    Re: 1921 Gibson F4 question

I was pretty sure it was redone. It sounds great and is easy to play. My main mandolin is a Breedlove but I use the Gibson every once in a while 'cause it's fun to play. It's not as loud as I...
  7. Re: Gibson threatening the mandolin and guitar luthier community

Well, I believe "our" trademark lawyer provided some good insight on this subject. ♫

I have a 1916 Gibson Oval hole F-4 and I use the EXP-74s. It sounds great.

    Re: Mandolin Influences

I also grew up in a musical family. My mother played organ and piano in church. She had a beautiful alto voice. I learned harmony techniques and how to read music from her. My father sang and...

    There are others:

    TENNESSEAN« (U.S. Reg. No. 38846555) (That's also a newspaper in Nashville.)
    THUNDERBIRD« (U.S. Reg. No. 3989004)

    Re: Music Streaming service question...

I have satellite radio but I'm becoming disenchanted with the bluegrass channel. They seem to assume that if it's acoustic and has a mandolin in it, it's bluegrass. A lot of it is not necessarily...

    Re: Replacement Pickup for Mandocaster

Seymour-Duncan made a telecaster-style mandolin pickup for me. I don't think they sell directly to the consumer. I special-ordered mine through Sweetwater and it was reasonably priced.

  20. Re: Looking for mandolin fret repair in Atlanta

I just had a re-fret job on one of my Breedloves by Tom Haywood in Peachtree City. Fantastic work. Sounds like a new mandolin.

Some of us don't imbibe and I'm not going to buy a bottle of beer for the washer. I'll stick with my hardware store washers. They've served me well for many years.

I've been using rubber washers on my Breedloves for years with no problems. Both have metal "end pins" for ╝" plugs.
