    Yeah....all of what I would think of as the advantages of a acoustic mandolin are out the window with an electric mandolin.....it is just an electric guitar with a limited range in a altered tuning.

    The point being that there is more then one way to skin a cat....less ways to skin a cay on the mandolin...so my point being that learning the mandolin fret-board and all the notes should be somewhat...
