Sticky: Re: Loar Picture of the Day

I know this is a Loar thread but I don't want to overlook the early Fern F-5's as I believe many of the first ones have Loar F-5 attributes! Such as left over parts, be it the Fern peg head inlays,...

Re: Mojo on beloved Daley mandolin

Get yourself a guard then no worries? I personally love pickguards-the look and feel, I don't plant my right hand but use it as a guide for my style of playing, I can barely play a mandolin if it...
  6. Re: Nr. Of Lyon & Healy style 1125 bowl back produced?

That is one gorgeous looking peg head! Also the pearl buttons help set it off! Any other photos, like the back of the peg head, and front and back of the body?
  7. Re: Charles Johnson - Mandolin World Headquarters

Charles is top notch! I've been trading and buying from him for well over 15 years. He's always very fair.

Thanks Darryl, It was just a thought but like you said its original and wouldn't want a bad result from an attempt at doing it! Now that you said the later Loars and such that may have stuck around...

Sticky: Re: Loar Picture of the Day

Next ?, Would it be worth it to get rid of the factory overspray or leave alone. I'm sure it could be done with some serious patience. But would that compromise or add to the value as it would most...

    Re: Cracked Bridge

Well its sort of the traditional way to go, loads of bridges are still original and going strong on early to mid 20's Gibson's, instead of the 90 degree cut one could use a curve on the inside angle...
