Happy Birthday Dennis and get well soon.
No issues with movement on mine. Never tried tone guard with it.
I'll speak on the Hiscox case. For my use, shuttling to local jam and storage at home, it is excellent. I keep my mandolin in the case when I'm not playing it. Accordingly, the 2 spring latches...
The 2010 Master Model Northfield currently in the classifieds looks like it has some heavy wear in the pickguard area and the armrest area. Not sure that translates into finish issue.
I second the Taylor Baby suggested by Kroland. Check your local craigslist. Might find one in your price range.
Hiscox case. Tremendous crush strength and no issues with the headstock scroll getting pinched. Surprisingly light also.
Sounds like a good candidate for a "$XXXX OBO" classified ad to determine a market price. Jim's pricing logic looks pretty sound as to determining a starting price.

Hey Alex,
Could you be more specific on what you disliked about the Homespun download? I was thinking of trying that and am interested in your response.
When I inquired about the 1955 Martin, I got the exact same Carolina Wilson response but on a Gibson ES330. I guess they have so many scams out there, it is hard to keep straight.
These were made by Weber for Artisan Guitars in Tennessee. I believe only a few were actually delivered to Artisan.
Hello all,
The Great American Bluegrass Festival is this weekend at the National Peanut Festival fairgrounds in Dothan, AL. Here is the link to the website. ...
Make the change for me. Charles Andre. Thanks.
Get the Collings MT. There will be no issues as you progress and you will have a ready market to sell when MAS sets in.
Since I got my Altman, I have stopped constantly looking for and seeking another "better" mandolin. It has made me a better player because I enjoy the sound, the look, the playability, all things...
Trade it in at a music store. Let them deal with it.
Hershel's Acutab dvd covers Rebecca in great detail. It's a fun tune.
