    I used to pick my violin with a guitar pick along to the radio years before I found out what a mandolin was. It's much better on an instrument designed for it.

    I play In the White Room on mandolin. It can be a little dull without the lyrics, though, but to me anything that puts rhythm in the lead points to some mando potential.

    I never quite got the delineation between country and folk or how so much music could be excluded, but it's a tough subject to tackle and, overall, he did so with elegance.
