  1. Re: Article: Playback - D'Addario's String Recycling In a Nutshel

Just sent in 3.5 pounds today.

Great program, and glad they lowered the minimum for the next month!
  2. Re: Post A picture of your favorite "A" model

    Re: Gibson F-5L thoughts

Kevin, aka mandomutt, has an approval period on sales but not on trades.

IMO David Harvey signed F5L's, are probably gonna sound really good, if not great, based on the 4-5 I've played.

    YMMV

Re: D'Addario Strings - Ask Us Anything

    You're kidding right?

Like Chris, I hope I'm misreading this comment.....if I'm not, it's pretty rude and unnecessary IMO.

I second Steve from Cumberland Acoustics.

Has done some work for me in the past, and did an incredible job.

Re: Tell me about your Duff

    I have a 2 year old tone bar braced A5 and a 2004 X braced F5.

The A5 is beastly and has a chest rattling low end and good cut. It does not have a particularly strong midrange, at least compared...

Re: My Rough And Rowdy Ways

    I agree with soliver! ^^^^

We are often too critical of ourselves when judging by our own ears.....this sounds just as it should IMO.

    Great job!

    Yes.
  14. Re: Other primitive, raw mandolin music like early Bill Monroe?

Well I think it's, as Chris Henry has said about Mr.Monroe, a very impressionistic interpretation of the songs.....there is alot of virtuosity in the above players, and also TONS of heart.

    When...

Re: More mellow sounding strings for my MT?

    Great service and great strings.

I had an MT2 that I needed to tame the brightness on.
The Mangan monels did the trick.

    Re: F-5G versus F-9

    That is a good deal.
The David Harvey signed Gibson's are no joke.

I have a Mandolin Store Custom that is a few years old, it has developed into a very powerful instrument.

    Congratulations...

    Re: Ballpark for a Dudenbostel

Paul told me he's only built about 20 or so A5's.

My Duff A5 is pretty much the only mandolin I need.

The body on Paul's A's are more akin to the shape of an oval hole Gibson, think Loar A5....
