Here's a lovely example of the sound of a pair of Davidson mandolins.

Mandolin - Big Muddy M-3
Strings - D'Addario EJ67... great bright tone!..I change the As for .016
Picks - I'm very fickle when it comes to picks!..at the mo my favourite is the Pickboy Meta...
Try a Fred Kelly 'Bumble Bee' .. It's a cross between a flat pick and a thumb pick.
Put a bevel on it!.. CT55 and Primetone are both beveled!
Tru-shells are vastly improved if you bevel them, they polish up really well!
also Hawk picks are well worth checking out...https://hawkpicks.co.uk/
Beautiful!
I've been listening to 'Fetch' a lot recently!.....great album!
highly recommend it.
To me the Gold are very similar to the Dunlop 500 series.. good picks but not that 'High End'

Sometimes you just can't beat good quality celluloid!
I like the Black Fang 1.14mm too! same as an Ultex Sharp only a nice black colour!
I've learnt a lot of great tunes from Tergal14 - it's worth checking out his youtube channel!
..love your version too Bertram! - nice set! :)
Pickboy..Meta Carbonate 1mm..great tone and sticks to your fingers..though they do wear rather quickly.
Also like Dunlop Tortex Jazz III XL 1mm (blue) and the Dunlop Tortex Wedge 1mm.
Wegen...
They'e the same size & shape as a regular Jazz III...quite small.
Great stuff! one of my favourite players - hope it goes well.
Hi Ivan.. I've bought stuff from Schneider Musik quite a few times with no problems ...delivery is usually about a week. good luck!:)
p.s always worth getting some Wolle picks whilst your there!
On ebay uk £10.05 free p&p sold by browndogbanjos.
This is great!

The bevels are right handed though in the picture they appear to be left handed.
I've been using them for a couple of days now and like them alot, the nylon sounds the warmest to my ears followed by the Noryl (black one) which is a bit smoother, the Celcon and polycarbonate are...
Just bought a sample pack of these: http://www.jtspix.com/buy.html
I got the 2mm mandolin shape, very nice! the white 'celcon' is my favourite at the moment and they're very cheap (if you live in...
Dunlop TIII 1.35mm and 1.50mm are my favourite picks to bevel, Tortex polishes up very well, ditto 'mandroid's comment.. nail files and nail buffers do the job fine!
I'll second the Big Stubby!..2mm is good and the Nylon version too!
