Carter vintage may have some. I don't think they are listed, so you have to contact them directly.

Re: Looking for set up in Washington

Where are you? In Bellingham I would recommend Dave Doucet or Devin Champlin. In Seattle, probably someone at Dusty Strings.

I've gotten a lot of use out of the Boulder Alpine gigbag. It is quite durable, for a soft case.

Yeah buddy! Who's picking the Miller? I saw Barry Brower listed his and it looks very similar.
  12. Re: Mystery Gibson...What is this strange instrument?

As per Joe Spann, Gibson owed Virzi $1486 in 1927 presumably for Virzi violins which they were marketing. Looks like the right time period and would explain "virzi" on the label.
  13. Re: WYNN MANDOLIN "THE JESSE McREYNOLDS MODEL" F5 copy

I had one years ago. As far as I know, he didn't build very many of the 3 point McReynolds models. Mine was one of the first and I sold it back to John's son Barry, who is active in the music scene...

I bought Roland's old Sumi about 10 years ago, and have loved it ever since. It also gave me an excuse to exchange a few emails with him.

    Re: Northfield A5 Special

My buddy brought home the A5 from Wintergrass. I think it was a prototype...and might have been the same one Denman John encountered. I think it is a great mandolin. Beautifully built, powerful...

    Re: Brazilian rosewood for mandolins?

Stan Miller built some with BRW, and I'm pretty sure that John Reischman was playing one on the first two Tony Rice Unit albums.

  24. Re: Grover replacement buttons for Derrington designed machines

The good folks at Gibson have come through! I can't say what their junk bin looks like, but they were exceedingly helpful in finding a couple of replacement buttons. I'm imagining an old box,...
