This sounds interesting, thanks :)
I hope you are not teasing about playing "Take On Me". I don't think I would play it myself but I'd love to hear it played :)

I have guitar strings on my Octave - it's a 23" scale, so ludicrously long - actually too long for regular octave mando strings, it turned out.
I'm not sure what my Octave Mando's string gauges...
Thanks for the tips! So this is a whole new instrument to learn to play :D
Hey!!
Over the St. Patrick's weekend, a good (very good) friend of mine announced she was selling her Weber Sage #1. She had this instrument shipped to Finland from near where I was born, as...
Awesome!! I hadn't seen this thread at all, but happen to have an electric mandolin, which I love :)
Have fun with the experimentation - I play my mandobird mostly late at night when everyone else...

I personally love playing with my fingernails - of course they are a lot quicker and less prone to dropping than regular pricks. My music guru told me that while it's OK to do that, you should at...
Interesting to learn about where things come from, but joking about getting it fixed :D
I'm going to go for #106 because of the dark color and the cutesy wooden tuning pegs, but I think #132 sounds a tiny bit nicer :)
Hey!
I'm finding that as soon as I stopped worrying about plucking the two strings and got used to the frets being close together, I'm loving the mandobird. And I can play it in the middle of the...
Howdy ho,
I've been sniffin around these pages for a while, and am finally posting this by way of an introduction :)
I'm an American living in Finland. I've been playing tenor banjo for a...
