They are still making mandolins. Dave Harvey is in charge of production.

Re: Strap for Kimble 2 Point

Make sure that plastic buckle thing doesn't lie against any lacquered surface. Vinyl and lacquer don't mix.

I admire plain and cheap good guitars.

    Re: Blue Chips

I've managed to hold onto my Bluechip picks. I had to forgo V picks because when you drop one of those clear picks they are gone.

Re: Hola HM-3TS and the noob

That mandolin is sold under dozens of brand names. I had one I picked up a while back on a closeout at Wal-mart and ended up giving it to a young lady that wanted to learn mandolin.

Re: keeping the mando off your stomach

I agree Jim. By the way, I almost used a capo on my mandolin tonight but I thought better of it as I was afraid someone from the Cafe might be at the show.
  9. Re: Is this Gibson A-5 model familiar to anyone?

You are pretty Jim I just don't know what happened to the "sure" that was supposed to be in that message.

I'm pretty sure Jim posted this in the wrong thread.
  11. Re: Is this Gibson A-5 model familiar to anyone?

I think there's a lump scroll A-12 in the classifieds right now. It's the same as yours only with F holes. They have been called the Gumby model here as well. As far as the value goes the F5's from...

    Source for left-handed mandolins

We have a member that is looking for a left-handed mandolin. Has anyone got a source other than the two in the Classifieds? Any stores in your area with one in stock?

Re: Want to Buy - Left Handed Mandolin

The right place to ask in this format would be the Classifieds under Want To Buy. We try and limit commerce to the Classifieds. If you were to post a message and ask "Does anyone know a retailer that...

    Re: Used Gibsons

You aren't alone in that aspect. Every now and then I manage to push one out of the nest. One time I was selling three guitars to buy another guitar and my friend Larry said "I never thought of doing...
  19. Re: Marketing and getting your name/brand out.

Alright, from the outside in and this one is harder to swallow for some than others. There's a reason that the vast majority of mandolins sold at higher prices in this world look pretty much the...

    Re: Help with identifying mandolin

It's really an F5 shaped object. The back and top appear to be flat on the OP and the one that sold on eBay. It matches well with the newer Ibanez. It also matches well with this:
