    I use "154 Heavy" formerly, "Stark" on my -20 A3 paddle head.

    I've had my A3 for almost 40 years. Mediums (IMHO) are not well suited for arch tops. I like them on my pancakes; however! ...

    solid wood v. laminate

    Ad copy will let you know if, "Hand carved" or, "Solid wood."

    These are important.

    Eastman 300 series fits the bill for entry level.

    no. you should learn to play with others. I mean basic stuff helps - chords with keys - but give yourself some time to make music, then learn to read.
