That would be a stunning event. Happy new years with your recovered Gibson!
  2. Re: Riveted Aluminum body, flat back, wood neck

Re: Which kind of Mandolin you play ?

I think it’s in my sig, but primarily the The Loar LM-590. It’s woody sounding and I’ve done some setup on it and it really sounds good, for what it is. Only issue is the neck is set low and I had...

Re: Tell me about my mandolin

I had a Lone Star branded mando about 15 years ago. Made in Mexico. I bought it new for about $125 if I recall correctly. I liked it, but I wasn’t really worked up over it either. I decided to...
  6. Re: Any others here that started their mandolin/instrument later

I’m 69. I started playing mandolin about 5 years ago, then set it away for a few years. I’m really been on it hot and heavy for a few months now, again. I truly enjoy it.

    Tweaked my Mando

A small victory for me. My girlfriend isn’t interested in these kind of details. She likes the music, but not stories likes this, so you get to read it.

I’ve two mandos currently. A Kentucky...

  13. Re: Does anyone get depressed or even semi-suicidal when they hea

It’s the mirror / photograph effect. I see myself in a mirror and think, “What a handsome dog”.
But I see a photo and can’t believe I’m that ugly.

if if I hear myself recorded, I wince, but...

Not all pedals are for all instruments and especially with acoustic instruments and voice, a little is typically better than a lot.

    Re: Mando Uke conversion

Nice. I tried the acquila soprano 5ths string on a uke, but broke the E tuning to mando pitch.

I need to get another set and go an octave lower.

Id love to hear that 8 stringer.

    Re: Mandolin Chord Book Reccomendation

I’m amazed at how many chord shapes exist on a mandolin often in the same position. Just yesterday I learned two other A7 shapes.
