Gonna miss you Bill. You changed my life. Thanks for believing in me. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you. My condolences. Sending love to the mandolin community. This one hits home.

It buffs just fine. I spray Epifanes then apply a TO top coat and apply it to the buffer. I also use the cheap harbor freight guns.
I’ve been building mandolins full time since 2015. I am self taught and have no history of luthier work or woodworking for that matter. It started out as a hobby that became my full time job. I sold...
Here is #9
Thanks that was #7
It’s headed to Durango Colorado
My most recent build.
Hello, curious if anyone else has noticed the lack of quality control on waverly tuners?
I’ve contacted stewmac and they sent replacements, they sent the shiny ones instead of the satin but they...
I appreciate you John. You have been a huge help and inspiration in my whole process, as well as a wealth of extremely helpful knowledge.
I started these in July 2020, they take as long as they take I’m not on a schedule, I work for myself, by myself. I assume these will be finished up around August or September. My customers are...
Thankfully I pay attention to detail and keep good notes on my process. Always room for improvement but I rarely make a “mistake”. A good luthier knows how to fix them.

Inlay is just about complete. Still need to fill a couple holes.
I was able to get a little more done on the inlay. Now its time to cut all those tiny little pieces.
Hey John! Thanks for asking, I am doing most of this inlay with MOP and some with square silver wire, cutting with a jewelers saw, routing with a 1/32 and a 1/16, downcut bit on a dremel.
Thanks, drawing accounts for waverly bushing size.
Here is my most recent inlay design, hope you all approve.

A Batch of Mandolins, building rims for #8-#17.
I would just get a bigger spraying handle that is 15/32...drill the hole once. very accurately without a step or taper. or wrap tape around your spraying handle to increase its size to 15/32, but...
Hi Chris I too am now searching for this book. Still have that pdf laying around
I have experienced exactly what you are describing, here’s what I did to fix it. I laminate the W,B .020 first and glue onto mandolin then I would adhere the final .060 W after. I’ve tried...
