    I use Pyramid flatwounds light and just run a finish nail through tho loops to hold them.

    Just got this and it plays and sounds good.Neck was a little chunky.Took care of that.Pickups really work.Tone and volume need improvement.Small body but I like it better than the Ricky or Fender 8...

    He played a lot in New York in the 70’s.Saw him at the Fillmore with horns and full band.Four tubas on one song.Also Hot Tuna that night with Johnny Winter.No mandolin except at the Bottom Line.

    I used them for many years and found they sound better with a thinner pick.Not so mellow and louder.I’m using a Dunlop Ultex 1.0 triangle shape.I switched to Pyramid two years ago.
