I'll look into that. I made the nut on it myself and fitted and slotted a CA bridge as well. So any issues with slots are 100% my fault, haha.
Although they are just as shallow as I could...
well, filling screw holes and drilling new is no problem. wondering if the post spacing is the same between brands.
Well, technically they are good. Turn very smooth and so on. I just feel that recently this mandolin is slipping out of tune more and more.
I might actually do a thorough setup before I blame it on...
Can someone recomend good quality replacement tuners for an Eastman 815 mandolin ?
Tuners that will fit the holes spacing perfectly. Thanks.

I might have found the answer to my question on my own, here is a screen grab of youtube.
Seems Thile is just using the universal mount to clip it on his Tonegard.
I suspected that....
I have had an ATM350 microphone for a number of years now. I use it a bit in live settings, usually with good resaults. I am curious about the new arm for it.

Hello Wayne , and you all.
How about distribution to the rest of the world.? To the rest of Europe?
I'd personally prefer HD stream to DVD to, as Ivan says above, "the other side of the pond". ...
My Calton is like that as well. The scroll sits tight to the padding. But in 7 years of banging that case around I never had any problems with it. I was worried to begin with though.

I haven't noticed a popping with the mute, the other day I used the jack output to a guitar amp and there might have been a slight tick sound. But then again I could hear a similar tick with all the...
I just put together a small pedalboard for this purpose.
I have the Headway EDB-1 preamp that has 2 channels (jack and XLR), eq and other things like phantom power for the AT350 mic.
That gives me...
I have an 2006 815 Eastman F5. For the first couple of years I was never happy with how it sounded. Thin, bright and little sustain.
But after a few tweaks it is a completely new instrument. I...
I'll be coming form Iceland, along with my banjo and fiddle buddies, and my Mowry f5 of course !! First bluegrass festival ever for me :)
Yes I can ask Andrew, and I just might. But I'm not seeking what he might suggest.
Mostly I'm courious about what different Mowry owners are using, and what they feel that their choice brings out of...
cool, sounds similar to me. Yes I think the CT55 pick is a bit on the thinner side soundwise but spectecular feel and control.
Oh and I forgot, Ialso have the James tailpiece and an armrest that...
You Mowry F5 owners out there.
As a proud owner myself of a beautiful Mowry F5 I was wondering what picks, strings and other accessories you all prefer to get the most out of your Mowry mandolin ? ...
Haha yes... I, for one, always loved the sound of his Dude. Even though I have played his Loar and that instrument is awesome, but just different.
Thanks for the tips.
I have actually already lowered the threaded posts since these photos. :)
I might make just another run and scrape from the center and then make final sanding with even finer...
Hi guys.
Just picked up my Eastman MD815 from a refret job... It now has EVO frets (FW74). ANd feels a lot better, easier to play. OF course it feels that way. These larger frets is what I am used...
Here is a recent recording I did with my band from a session of fiddle tunes and bluegrass standards.
Blackberry Blossom and a rather mellow version of Big Sciota (haven't practiced that up to...
Hi guys. I noted that my video got posted here.
I just like to add to the discussion that my Mowry #62 is always getting better and better. I am still blown away every time i pick it up. It has...
Good point :)
Yes, the saddle seems to lean ever so slightly forward, that might have happened in the last round of sanding. :/
Don't know if I should try sanding the base to be angled a bit more backwards ?
