Hi. Can someone please explain Hemiola to me?
Hi everyone. Thanks so much. I guess that sort of fogged up and then clarified a whole lot of things. : ) I was always wondering if a C9 included the 7th or not. You were saying that it does,...
Hi. What chord would you call these notes? G, A, F#, D? I see that it's a D major with... is it an 11th? can this be called anything else? Thanks
okay thank you. that's exactly what I wanted to know. :)
Hi. If I have an E minor chord, and the notes are: E, B, E, G in that order, is it a 2nd inversion chord with an added E at the bottom? OR is it a chord in root position because the E is at the...
Thanks everyone for responding. The whole "major/minor" thing makes lots of sense.
On to more...;)
That makes a whole lot of sense. So in the key of C (c d e f g a b c), we leave out the F because it's not part of the G scale, and we leave out the B because it's not part of the F scale.
Does...
Oh. That didn't even occur to me :)
thanks Tom.
Hi everyone. another question. I know that certain intervals are "perfect". but what is it that gives them that title? Is it because both notes of the interval are part of the other note's...
Thank you Jim, I understand what it's saying now. That's a pretty cool site you got that explanation from. :)
oh, that's a good point. I've been using keyboard as far as scales and modes are concerned, but I haven't really been playing the examples. maybe I'll start that. thanks.
Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. now I can move on.
:)) "stay tuned for further questions" :))
Thanks for your ideas, I'm trying to learn this on my own, just out of the book (I know that sounds a bit crazy) so I don't have a teacher. At least I'm happy to know that it's not just me not...
Hi. I'm studying for the AP Music Theory exam, and I hope to use this thread to post any questions I may have in the process.
I'm currently in the chapter on intervals, and the book says:...
try "Free Mp4 to MP3 Converter" You can download it for free. just google it. It is very simple to work.
Thank you Greg. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Ed, Had you not posted the problem you encountered, I would've thought it was just my computer ;). And thank you Scott- that was a...
Okay, Thanks. I don't have a working email at the current moment, so I guess I'll just have to wait till you can post it ;)
Thank you so much, Aliza
Hi. I know there have been threads on this, but does anyone have the mandolin tab for edelweiss-other than just the plain melody? I'm looking for something a little bit more complex ;)Thanks.
Okay. Thank you.
"This is perhaps unclear."
You're right. Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to figure out how to phrase that...Now I know ;)
Is this a good mandolin for starters?
Epiphone MM-20 Mandolin
How is it vs. the Kentucky KM140?
thanks
[QUOTE]BTW, moving up one fret is moving up one semi-tone (or one key on a piano).[QUOTE]
This is a HUGE help to understanding what notes are what.
If there is a black key between the notes...
What airline are you flying, and is it international or in the U.S.? I've flown on Jet Blue with a guitar put on top and holding a violin on my lap ( this was before I got into mandolin...:]), and...
perfect. Thank you so much.
Hi. When I became a member of this forum, I guess I somehow set it so that I would get an email to my real email address anytime I received a personal message. Is there any way to change this now so...
