I find it quite hard to be distracted by other things when I'm bending a side to be honest but I accept that it's maybe different for others. Just saying what I do and that I don't have problems

I bend guitar sides using a blanket without a controller without problems. You have to keep your head in the game at all times though. And have a good thermometer. I bend sides starting at 121C...
