  1. Re: Northfield (& Beyond) Dilemma: A5 Special vs NF-F5S/NF-F2S

You should keep the model M and consider this....

    https://www.mandolincafe.com/ads/193791#193791

After all we all need a F model and an A model. ;)

    Re: Hurricane IAN coming

I saw a photo earlier where the storm sucked most of the water out of Tampa Bay, leaving a giant mud flat. :disbelief:

    Re: Breedlove Rogue repair

Pardon my question but is it even worth the cost of the repair? I would call it a loss and move on.

Re: New Breedlove Tenor Guitar (-:

These Breedlove "tenor guitars" were never tenor guitars at all. They were plectrum guitars tuned GDAE.

    Hurricane IAN coming

It looks like a major storm will make landfall close to Tampa for the first time in over 100 years. Then it is headed our way and then onto Georgia and South Carolina. Just want to wish all my fellow...

Re: Gig bag for pancake mandolin?

Great suggestion Mike. I have an Access 111 bag for one of my mandolins but it would be too deep for a Flatiron mandolin.

    Epiphone Windsor in the classifieds

Wow, here is really an odd duck...

    https://www.mandolincafe.com/ads/193496#193496

Only three known to exist? Did Epiphone get a cease and desist letter from Gibson?

    Re: Strings Question

+1 for the Curt Mangan monel strings. I just put of light gauge on my ovel hole and like them a lot. They do cost a couple of $ more but they seem to last quite a bit longer than PB strings.

Re: Tale of the Burgin and the Phoenix

Always nice when the stars in the mandolin universe align. Good to hear it worked out.
  12. Re: Good Tone - How long does it actually take?

One other aspect that I know affects me is tension in my body. If I am experiencing any tension in my shoulders, elbows or wrists, my tone suffers. YMMV.
