Once you get used to it (through practice) you can use a pick with the Peterson without any problems
Peterson Stroboclip. Best tuner I’ve ever had but the TC Clip-on is great too. Not as well built though.
Actually I did see one for sale the other day but I thought it was just a mandolin
Well "tungsten" literally means heavy rock in swedish.
I played guitar for years before picking up the mandolin and my reaction was honestly that this isn't a very weird way of playing. I don't do it a lot on the mandolin because of how high on my chest...
I'm using a banjolit one. It's great. They'll probably all do what you need them for though.
Seems pretty simple. Do you aim your videos at kids? Is your intention to have kids as an audience? If not then it’s not for kids.
Some days I like it, some days I don’t. I love to have the choice and thus I’d recommend it.
Good choice of mandolin! I have a 305 and I’m in love with it.
That’s a good one. I think I’ll use that.
My significant other made me a soft textile bag from an ikea blanket. I have a soft case too, but I like those vintage guitar bags that provide no comfort or security.
Yeah I’ll need to buy the tools soon. I’ve been putting it off on my guitars and now my mandolin.
I only know that Malmö Musikaffär sells mandolins. I haven’t been there, but I considered ordering my Eastman from them until I found Gitarren i Göteborg, where it was a bit cheaper at the time. It’s...
First I sanded spots to make it look worn (and to see what’s underneath), but I’ve sanded down most of it now. Sand it too far and it’ll go right back to the glossy look.
That’s a very convincing proposition.
I sanded down the chrome on the tailpiece. That looks great too. Don’t sand too deep though. Also coat it with something.
My current top pick would be the chicken picks “shredder”. It’s a bit extreme though. How I grip it depends on what I’m playing. Sometimes I switch to their “badazz III”. The thicker and harder the...
That’s great! When it was time for me to decide on a first mandolin I found the Eastman md305 and instantly fell in love. I’ve modified it quite a lot since I first got it, some of which is a big...
I generally don’t use tabs or sheet music unless there’s something I absolutely can’t figure out by ear. I started playing guitar with tabs, but after some time I stopped since It’s usually just...
The Polytune really has been the greatest tuner I’ve had yet. I’ve probably owned mine since they first became available and it’s been through literally everything a tuner can be exposed to. Sadly...
I did something similar to my md305 after reading this thread. Can’t show a picture at the moment, but I didn’t go all the way through the finish everywhere. It looks a bit “reliced” I guess. I...
Agreed. Most of the ones I own are stable enough to be kept out, as I do, unless there’s some insane weather phenomenon going on. Some instruments will be more sensitive, but I haven’t found one that...
My mandolin is either hanging on me, lying in the couch, standing in a chair or is generally just left somewhere where it can’t be accidentally sat on. I pick it up more if it just hangs out near me,...
I've had my Dr. Arm for a couple of weeks now and I can recommend it. I was looking for alternatives to the popular american made ones online, since I didn't want to import from outside the EU. Too...
