The artwork reminds me of the old Dungeons & Dragons manuals. Not gonna lie, I'd play it.
I wouldn't buy it, but I'd play it.

I'll have to stop in to check it out, gives me an excuse to get barbecue at Swine Dining down the road anyway!
Looks like Alfa Romeo to me.
I've got a pack of those waiting to be put on, probably in the next few weeks.
+1 for Dusty Strings, that's where I went earlier this year.
Well, I didn't mean the literal absolute worst, I mean, a bit could fall off a passing plane and squish me flat, too :D
In preparation for acting like a minstrel at the renaissance fair, I took my mandolin to work for a few weeks. On breaks, I'd go out back and practice walking, playing, and singing, and since the...
I got my first mando, the ubiquitous Rogue, figuring it might be a decent segueway into violin, since I'd already played guitar for 15 or so years (off and on) by that time. Plunked around a little,...
80-90% of the time I don't know what the chords in the song we'll be playing are going to be, so it's much easier for me to follow along if I don't have to transpose on the fly too. Or maybe I do...
Heh, no worries.
We actually have a couple guitarists that don't even approve of using one on a guitar.
Me, I just put a capo on the mandolin, and folks are free to disapprove all they like. Myself and the people I'm playing with still have a good time making music, so I think we're coming out winners.
Fortunately the year is correct on the dedicated page, but the post lists it as 2018 ;)
It sounds intriguing, quite a trek for me, but if I dovetail it with visiting folks in CO, not outside the...
Yes, I have to say them offering an oval hole version would definitely grab my attention.
Try one of their Grand Symphony bodies as well, if you get a chance. The smaller body styles don't do much for me, but the GS & GO have something going on (I own a cedar/mahogany GS).
I'm also the proud owner of a 2014 Premier OO. Of the other mandolins I've played in the last year and a half, the only other one that tempted me with MAS was another Breedlove oval hole, so I guess...
But I'm still waiting to see how long these DR Dragon Skins last! It's only been a couple months, still sound pretty good as far as I can tell.
That is a pretty good price. Rare to see them go for less than that.
Overall I prefer the M11. Didn't have a chance to play either first, I picked up the M2 after watching for used Big Muddy deals, it was the first one that showed up. About a year later the M11 showed...
I have an M2 and an M11. Obviously it's subjective, but I don't consider the M11 too dark. Plus there's always strings to factor in. I suppose I'd describe my playing as mostly folk/rock.
I started on one, and don't regret it one bit. Yeah, it has that cheap laminate sound to it, but mine arrived in playable condition, and putting on new strings helped with the tone some. Was enough...
I use a capo frequently at our jam sessions, I'm mostly doing chordal accompaniment following guitarists playing songs I don't necessarily know how to play. Got enough going on to keep up without...
Pretty cool accomplishment there, Billkwando!
I will say I turned my nose up at the notion of Guitar Hero/Rock Band games, until I finally tried one. I do believe it helped me get over the hurdle...
I'll see what I've got going on the 13th, that might be cool.
Didn't recognize the venue at first, which surprised me, but then I checked and saw that it was the Side Door Lounge previously, cool...
One of the Breedlove mandolins might be a good fit for you, they typically have a wider nut. I have a Premier OO (A-style, oval hole) and I'm quite fond of it.
I had an M1SDL in blue for 2-3 years, it was my main mandolin for most of that time until I got a Mid Mo. Was still a little sad to see it go when I sold it.
