We're in a padded room telling the drooling person next to us not to be like the dude across the way b/c "he's crazy!"

Re: Storage: Case vs Hanging on the Wall

I have had my mandolins on wall hangers for years. Never had one fall. The only thing they get is dusty sometimes. I cover the peg head/tuners with a hat. I play them less when stored in cases.

Lest we forget that we are an international group, we can remember the contributions of the British, Canadian, and allied forces who were also landing in Normandy and also remember the terrible toll...

Re: Man....I had a blue guitar...

I've seen plenty of blue mandolins through the ages. When I first started and was obsessed with cheap mandolins on Ebay, I loved the Marcus Martini blue mandolin.

    Re: Are Eastmans a keeper?

We have members with the means to cycle through some really high end mandolins and they quite publicly share their quests. I'm not a performer, I don't even earn fun money playing mandolin. I have a...

    Re: Are Eastmans a keeper?

What makes a keeper is owner dependent. If you enjoy it and get satisfaction from how it and you perform together, then it's a keeper.

    Re: Grieving Sally Goodin

Our pets are often closer than work colleagues and even most friends. I know your loss. It hurts. It's real. Grieve. I'm sorry for your loss. It's especially hard when you're the one in the house...
  15. Re: Traditional or modern design, what's your strategy ?

    Welcome to the Cafe.

If it were me, I might learn the fundamentals of an instrument design that worked first (even the A5) and master making plates that move well and sound chambers that make...

    Re: Mandolin Try-out Etiquette

It all depends on the person (you and them). If they offer, I'll give them a go. It's how I got hands on a Loar signed instrument once.

    I know how I treat things. The loaner won't. I won't know...
