That's really great work Darryl.
I talked to the sound guy at wintergrass and he said JD Crowe was using an Audix SCX-25. I was blown away by the vocals. I'm not sure if there was any other mics being used. The guitar player lifted...
I never thought there was bad intent in any banjo jokes I've heard. Most Banjo players I know love them. I never realy thought their feelings were hurt by them. But then I heard a Rock guitar player...
I used to take a bar of soap and make a little mark on all 4 surfaces then polish of with a cloth... That worked pretty good. Good luck.
Oh yeah.. It works great on bathroom mirrors too!
I wish I had taken the serial # now. It would be interesting to track the maker if possible. The book looks interesting as well. Something about that art work just gets me. I love it. I spoke to her...
Hello all!
I met someone today who asked me about this mandolin. It seems in very good shape other than the missing tuning peg.
It was made in Montreal @ Peate musical mfg. co.
I told her about...
Q: What do you call a blonde on a Banjo player's arm?

slap some flames on that baby and its a keeper!
It's this "sharing" of info from the experienced builders that makes this site so great! Thanks Darryl for all your efforts. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
Don't forget to use distilled water..
I managed to figure it out and record it on my computer. I think that tune is just beautiful. Thanks again Scott!!
Merry Christmas to you too Alex....and all the wonderful people here at the Cafe!!! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Mountain Bear Stompers?
Got the black one... paid around $95.00 Canadian for it. By far the best tuner I've had.(convinience and ease of use)
I wouldn't go "Bare Bones" on this tuner. Go all the way and get the back lit...
A little super glue should hold these frets just fine.
Finaly took the time to have a little peek. (dialup)
I like it too. Id like to hear a Mando/Guitar version. Or better yet a whole herd of mando's playing it. Good luck...
While were in space..
I lost this and all my others in a "Crash" so thanks to Mandolooter for recovering it.
Guess I'll change with the times.....Got about 5 sets ready for the micro wave. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif
Thinking back to grade school (grade 4 maybe...) the music teacher taught us "I'm on the street where you live." the melody has stayed with me ever since. I think back now and wish I could thank her....
Nice to see these beauties coming out of the woodwork.
Definatly going to keep an eye open for more examples here.
Thanks for the replies.
