Re: Halsey mandolin, fiddle and bow

Yep, those pictures show Bill’s appreciation for beautiful varnish work. I don’t play fiddle but, if I did I am sure a Halsey would be a comfortable instrument to live with.
    I was lucky to have...

Re: In search of a mandolin...

My advice is simply play as many instruments as you possibly can, take some real time with each one and see which one trips your trigger. It will be your friend for some time, there’s no reason to...

Olaf, thank you for including the link! I wonder how John Duffey and the rest of the “Seldom Scene” would react to that tune in Slovak? I’m sure they are smiling. Great stuff!

    Re: Clipping/Cutting Excess String

I knew guy that did lots of “kid” shows, he showed me a fingertip saving tip.
Simply work harden the string by bending it back and forth a few times until it snaps. The post end almost always snaps...

I have heard sound clips of a couple of Adrian’s mandolins through the courtesy of Bill Halsey who collaborated on the fabulous plans available through Elderly.
This clip does not do justice to the...

    Re: The Myth of Perfection

There was a late night discussion with Bill Halsey where I made a comment about how things were done at the factory with “casual perfection” I think we laughed for an hour. But, the fact remains that...

    Re: '77 D.Wm Halsey F5

    Just noticed your post grommet,
