I think they do take trade-ins. I'm not 100% sure though. Just give them a call and email pics of what you have.

I've had the opportunity to play two of the post flood havery mandos. A F5G and a goldrush. Boy it's hard to put in words the sounds and tone. All the hype. Believe me till you hear or play one you...
Just buy The Gibson.
Sorry to Resurrect a old thread but I've had My Clawson since I was probably ten years old. Dad bought it for me back in the mid 90's. Made in 1983 #43. She's 31 yrs old this year. And for the age...
Hey Clef I would love some feedback on those mando's you play recently at the mandolin store. You say all three were signed by Davey harvey? Is he signing all his mandolins now??? I tried to PM you....
Yeah it can be. But it's not that bad once you've memorized the Sequence and placement and meaning of the numbers. I think it works well IMO.
Now that's a nice mando!!! Gosh gibson has so many options and things they can an could do. Nt really complaining what they do DO is create holy grails in the business! :mandosmiley:
That's great...that's what I like is a darker finish. Makes them look old an worn to me!
I can second that!
It's immaculate! Schedules an such have to line up...
No not exactly. But I just would like to see it with the top fully bound. They could leave the back binding off. Would be ok with that.
I'm just not a A model fan. Not a thing wrong with them I just prefer the look of an F. Besides I'm pro gibson and I will have "The Gibson" on the headstock. :) Ellis is a top three mandolin brand in...
If money weren't limiting me I would certainly consider a new fern! But to my tasting and liking the brown/Cremona burst on those early 00-01(02?) models look much nicer to me and that's what I...
That 01 has the perfect flame an color to my liking! Just can't get enough of it! I know quite a bit about that mandolin! ;) ;) we shall see...that very one could be why I started this thread...oh...
Yeah I agree. From what little exerpeince I have with the Harvey's something about them. They are special. I think the post flood Harvey's will be talked about for years to come. I just have to...
Thank you for your reply. That's quite the collection you have there! I agree tone is hard to describe. I often try and just use the wording loosely, but that "bluegrass sound an tone". I don't know...
Thanks for the reply f5loar. Your not to far away from me if your in Salisbury. I'm in East Bend. I really like the finish and color a lot on the 01 f5l, fern. Does yours have the Cremona...
Oh and Sierra also now has a Lafferty. Stumbled across her playing it on a YouTube video.
Thank you for answering that.....I've been wondering and wanting to know how many mando's she has and plays and which she likes the best. If I had to guess I think she is a gibson girl at heart and...
I guess everyone is gone pickin tonight....Hmmm used fern or new F5G.....:whistling:
My error Big Ed! I mistake you for "Big Joe" here on the cafe!
Well said Big Joe! I'm pro gibson all the way! Traditional in my taste! People can say all day long all they want your just buying a name on a peg head. I will always disagree. Deep down we all...
I don't think a man would ever go wrong with a Ellis.
The gibson next joint was changed from M&T joint to compound dovetail I believe between 98-00 (somewhere in there) thanks to the late C. Derrington. As Mr Derrington once stated "If it ain't like a...
