    New Eastwood/Airline tenor coming

The latest tenor from the Eastwood custom shop is up here. Airline "Jetsons Tenor", modeled after their Jetsons Jr 6-string. The picture shows one pickup in the bridge position but the description...

Re: Gigbag for 19 Inch Telecaster Tenor

If you can find one of these (they're not common), it's a great fit for my Zither tenor guitar, which has the same overall dimensions as your guitar. Really generous padding, good quality, zipper...

Re: Some Questions on New Purchase

A 19" scale is a little longer than most mandolas and a little shorter than most octave mandos, so it will accommodate both CGDA and GDAE tunings pretty well. Most tenor guitars are ~23" but that's...

    Re: New tenor

Interesting! That's the only place I see it online - not on the RK site or any of the big box stores. Here's what they say for specs:

"Recording King Dirty 30's Series 7000 Tenor Guitar
    Spruce...

Re: This Martin O-15T sounds great

Different tastes, different ears, and variable conditions of vintage Martins notwithstanding, I don't think it's really a comparison. I've A/B'd both in a store and owned both at the same time. The...

    Re: Electric mandocello

I have an Eastwood mandocello, and a couple of their tenors (including the oddly named "tenor baritone", which is basically a 4-string mandocello). Eastwood's QC is not the best, so sometimes you'll...

Re: Fender Tenor Tele - First Impressions

It was just a joke. The 2 Teles I've owned were both just under 9 lbs, but admittedly they were Squiers (Classic Vibes). It was the only thing I didn't like about them. 5 1/2 pounds seems amazing,...

Re: Fender Tenor Tele - First Impressions

That's 3 pounds shy of the legal definition of "Telecaster" :)

Thanks for the review, great demo. Looking forward to getting one when the next batch comes in.

Re: Looking for a Fender Tenor Tele

I cancelled my preorder with Chicago Music Exchange. It may have been filled since, but you could try them.
  10. Re: Big Muddy only $209 at Guitar Center (M-20 model?)

Maybe. Most of the time I ordered something used from GC that "comes with a case", it didn't.

Re: High Quality Short Scale Tenor Guitar?

Vintage - or modern re-issue - Martin tenors are great, but I've never seen one that was in the 21" scale range. Did they ever make a short scale?

Re: High Quality Short Scale Tenor Guitar?

Fletchers are 21" and very high quality. Some of the old small Regals are very good (i.e. the ones with spruce top and mahogany or rosewood back & sides), but theyre often pretty bent out of shape...

    Re: new Healy tenor

Yeah I'm lucky to live just up the road from him. The pickups were made by Gemini out of Newburgh NY - a small (one-man?) shop from what I gather. P90s in mini-hb casings.

    Re: new Healy tenor

The painted top is poplar, the rest of the body & neck are walnut. 24" scale, tuned FCGD.

Re: nylon strung 4 string OM

Pono makes a baritone "nui" that's roughly Martin 0-sized and 23" scale. It's designed for DGBE but would work well as a nylon string OM.

    Re: New Tenor guitar

The bridge placement looks fine to me. Something to consider for future builds, though: the luthier I'm working with on a Jazzmaster-style tenor came up with the idea of keeping the original body...

Re: Single Coil Pickups for Tenor?

They'll line up as long as the string spacing is the same. A traditional tenor spacing is about the same as a 6 string so typically it will use the middle 4 poles. Joel Eckhaus of Earnest Instruments...

    Heritage tenor

There's a Les Paul style Heritage tenor up on ebay. Appears to be a one-off. Anyone have any experience with that brand? NFI and I'm not bidding in any case, but thought folks might be interested.

Hi and welcome to the rabbit hole - glad you could join us! I give you my opinions as someone who mostly plays GDAE and adjacent tunings (FCGD, GDAD).

Re: Tenor Guitar Gallery & Sightings

Re: Breedlove, Tenor, Revival OM M

I would try the strings that are on them first (assuming they aren't already beyond their best by date). If you first play a bit in GDAE and then tune down and compare, you'll have a sense of whether...
