I'll second Lee's endorsement of the Blues Junior (I think he meant "can't go wrong" http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif )
You just can't beat the warm and buttery...
This is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing this. Simply fantastic songwriting and playing. I can see why you gushed about the CD...I ordered it as soon as I heard a few tracks. Thanks again for...
I think this is a very attractive design. I actually like the headstock. The cutaway on the treble side echoes the "footprint" of the unique hook scroll much the same as the traditional F style...
Wow! I just found this thread linked in another. That's an awesome sound out of that Rickenbacker. And might I add some great tunes from Reckless Kelly! I've heard OF them but never really heard any...
You should call the Roberto-Venn school of luthiery and ask for Joe Vallee...I've never had Joe work on any of my mandos, but he actually builds his own custom emandos, and I've heard very good...
No personal experience with Bluestar, but there happens to be 9 new ones on sale at Elderly right now...
Check it out: http://www.elderly.com/brand/90N_blue%20star.html
Think I'll bump this to the top one last time...

Nothing is worse than the day after a lousy gig...Self-doubt and self-criticism rear their destructive ugly heads and the bad moments from the night before replay in your head over and over...I've...
My thoughts are with your friend..and you too, man...
Mike
I've never played one, but they've got great reviews from others on the cafe...
Just passing the word along... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Bobd, that G-110 is absolutely gorgeous! <wiping the drool from my keyboard...>
I don't really have a show to recommend...All I can say is that the Ether album was released in 1999 and "Echo Echo" was their next album both of which, IMO, are them at their "Celtic-est" if you...
I'll second that vote on Carbon Leaf--Check out their album Ether Electrified Porch Music.
Hmmm...Since my separate post about Mando Saenz doesn't seem to be garnering that much response, I think I'll post it here too...
Mad Dawg, I think you'll find your CDAS fires further stoked if...
I suspect that Mando is short for Armando, but that's just a guess...According to the liner notes, the mandolin player on the album is Bobby Flores...

I thought about posting this in Mad Dawg's Alt-Country CDAS thread, but I think this warrants it's own thread...
I just picked up a copy of Mando Saenz's CD, Watertown, and am highly...
I'd agree that their latest CD, Indian Summer, has less Celtic influence than their previous recordings, but, after a couple spins, I think it is still an outstanding disc...The mando content is...
Carbon Leaf is a really cool band out of Virginia that features mando fairly regularly. They're signed and I believe currently on tour nationally...Check 'em out if you get a chance...
Wayne, I...
Thanks for the lead man...You rock...:)
