I have no idea why that's the first thing I thought about - but here we are, just the same.

Re: Adding side port to mandolin

There was a whole thread about this less than a month ago. Bottom line was, no difference... as I recall. Do a quick search, you'll see all the info that was shared, including by some builders.

Re: Alternate Reality Fender Tenor Tele

Interesting factoid (to no one else but yours truly): I play the uke so much, I named my band Uke'n'Smile

Meanwhile, those are still fugly examples of a great instrument :D

I applaud Fender for trying something different, but those ukes are FUGLY at best to me. Just gross.

A day spent in my home studio...

... is usually a fine day. I'm grateful for this simple rig and the joy it brings into my life.

  20. Re: Sunday picking sessions at my house are keeping me alive...

It was a great time. I do 300+ gigs a year, so you'd think I have enough, but these gathering are first about connecting as people - which is why I always cook for them and we get to share a meal....
  21. Re: Sunday picking sessions at my house are keeping me alive...

So I tried to invite this older couple - he sings and plays guitar, she plays banjo - to my house for a picking session and a meal... and they said, no you're coming to our house and we're cooking...

    Re: Wide neck Mandolins ?

As a feller born and raised in Europe, I have to admit that 1/16" vs 3/16" really doesn't mean much to me. Seems unlikely it'd make much if any difference.

Needless to say, I'm more than willing...
