    Re: 1976 Epiphone BG440

I had the Ibanez and it was pretty much junk. Very pretty to look at though. I agree, you can do better for the money.

A coffee table with a neck?
  4. Re: How much of a difference in sound does string gauge make?

You might want to try recording yourself before and after the string change so you can do an A/B playback comparison.

Re: Humidity control, ay ay ay

Here in New England I use case humidifiers in the winter.

What's puzzling to me, though, is that back in the 60's and 70's, no one I knew bothered about humidification, or maybe even knew it was...

Poll: Re: Solid Wood Acoustic Environment/Storage

Unless the temperature goes from freezing to 90 the same day, I wouldn't sweat it. You're not the first mandolin player to live in Tennessee.

    Re: Different chord shapes

Just today I learned a new way to play a G7 on guitar... after 50 years of playing. So, yeah, there's more than one way to skin the proverbial cat.

Re: Bluegrass Mandolin for a Newbie

Another vote for the Primetones. I use the 1.3's on my mando, bass, and sometimes guitar.

    Nice job on that Mark.

Fun to see the photo of Chuck with a Kelvinator guitar.

    Re: Reasons to avoid practicing

I didn't practice this morning because I had to change my strings. By the time I got done with that it was lunch time. After lunch I always have a nap. I'll practice after I wake up. Unless I go to...
  24. Re: Tell me your experiences with rechargeable tuners

Keep an eye on Sweetwater. I picked up a Unitune on sale there for $15 a while back. (Even though that's not what this thread is about.)
