If you love the way it sounds, maybe the strap will cover it up and it won't bug you as much...
But if it was me and I spent that much $$$$ I would take it back - just play the new one to ensure you...
I don't think you can go wrong with either one as they are both well made mandolins.
BUT, if I had to choose, I would probably go with the Kentucky 855. Very nice mando indeed.
