Re: Some instruments take time to sell

I think it's just part of the business, many times I have seen mandolins advertised as "shop worn" at a discounted price in an effort to move them along. Actually that happened in my case. I am not...

Some instruments take time to sell

    Limited mandolin content.

I just got word that a viola I built in 2010 while working at a violin shop as a restorer and maker sold this week. It is a welcome development in these uncertain times....

    Re: Northfield Calhoun

You can choose between two different pick guards, one stuck to the top or a floating one. You can also order an arm rest.

Re: GIROUARD F4 Delivered Today !!!

As much as I like my Girouard, The one Heiden I played still haunts me to this day. Played it against a Gil and a Montelone and it absolutely ruled the day.

    Re: Informal Poll

Why set the cap at 10 K? Gils, Dudes, Heidens, Montelones, and others are all the 20 K range. Lots of happy owners.

Re: GIROUARD F4 Delivered Today !!!

As the proud owner of a Girouard mandolin (F-5 # 83) I can attest to what great folks Max and Lauri are. That said, I am extremely envious of of you for having that beautiful F-4! ;)

    Re: Collings MT2 vs MF-GT?

I had the same experience last year at Avenue Guitars in Colorado. Played a beautiful quilted Collings F-5 (10 K if I remember) then played a Northfield F-5. The Northfield had tone in spades over...

    Is anyone familiar with it?
  25. Re: Circa 1924 Lyon & Healy Style B with differences!

Post # 1, according to the Pleijsier book on L&H and Washburn the label is circa 1917. Coming from a background in violin restoration, labels are the first and easiest things to fake.
