    Re: Attention Silverangel owners

Its been a couple of days since I put the strings on and I can say that I DO like them. But I am trying to be subjective enough to admit that I am honestly not sure if there is a real difference or...

    Re: Attention Silverangel owners

I was due to change my strings so I took a shot and ordered the J75's... I can tell a difference. ...It may be just new strings, but usually I am not a fan of the sound of new J74's and like it...

Re: The virus, the economy, mandolins and you

A friend of my wife shared this CS Lewis quote (Circa 1948) with her a little while ago and I think it applies well here:

In one way we think a great deal too much of the atomic bomb. “How are we...

    Re: I Miss Playing Live!

I miss the weekly Jam session in our small town square. I am typically the youngest (at 41) and have a great time trying to keep up with all of the seasoned BG musicians who have played longer than...

I work as a facilities manager for a large church (probably technically a "mega church" by definition) just NW of Atlanta. We have cancelled all gatherings, bible studies, groups and services until...

Re: NMD 1989 Flatiron Performer A

Congrats!!! When I met up with David Mold a while back to give his Silverangel a try, he had a Flatiron (think an A Jr) and I really liked how it sounded and have contemplated adding to my collection...

Re: Post a picture of what's on your bench?

Not necessarily what's on my bench, more like what's running TO my bench! I'm spending the weekend running real "grown up" power out to my 12x20 shop. It's been running off an extension...

Re: How to approach practicing and improvement?

I try hard to spend some time with a metronome regularly, particularly if I'm working on a typically fast played tune. You'll be amazed at how that can help you grow, even just with practicing scales.

Re: Anybody planting trees? Share your stories!

Even when you bind them, they still get big. We planted one about 15 yrs ago that was probably 2-3' high in and in-ground stacked brick surround to tame the roots. It is now about 20' tall and all...
