I have one, love it. It is made by Saga, the same people that make Kentucky.

    Re: What does FFcP mean?

No open strings are played, scales, for instance start on a fretted note instead of open string.

    Whew...some Reverb sellers...

Wow, just wow. I'm talking about people who represent themselves as a brick and mortar business type seller.

Helping a buddy look and asked a couple of questions about a mandolin for sale...

What makes a "lefty" mandolin a lefty?

Saw some on Reverb and I just got curious...what makes a "lefty" a lefty?

Is it the bridge and the nut being the other way? I'm guessing that is the only difference?

Re: Help comparing Kentuckys for upgrade!

My tag line fits this perfectly....it's a constant struggle to avoid the "buy and try" mind set. Until we invest in ability, investing in instruments really doesn't matter.

Chillin' by the pool on father's day...

Since I didn't see a post about it, my apologies if I just didn't look hard enough, I thought I would say "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY" to everyone.

I got a chance to get the Rover out for some pool time...

    Re: Bridge "leaning" toward peghead

As stated above and start with the middle courses, bring up to tension slowly. My km150 tries to do this, just have to watch the bridge and do it as stated.

Giving credit where credit is due

Bought a snark tuner. It broke at the arm connection, a design that needs to be reworked as its a failure point.

Contacted snark, they sent a new one out right away. That's customer service. ...

    Man....I had a blue guitar...

I tried guitar, never really got that going, prefer mandolin. But at one time I had a blue one. Yup, blue...that sucker was catchy. Never seen a blue mando....until a couple minutes ago.

See my tagline...we apparently think alike. Good luck on the new adventure.
  25. Re: Newbie wondering about "The Loar" F-style mando quality

Every 310 honey creek I have held kinda looks like plastic due to the finish. I don't have much experience with them but I think there's probably better choices. YMMV
