    Re: White Stained Mandolins?

Hi TJ, when I was building electric guitars, I was always intrigued by this company's product (the mandatory "NFI" inserted!):

    I'm not sure I'd want...

    Re: Heritage tenor

Heritage is well-regarded in the electric guitar world. They're ex-Gibson employees that still work out of the old factory in Kalamazoo, making excellent Les Paul & 335-alikes.

    That tenor's going...

  6. Re: Gibson threatening the mandolin and guitar luthier community

This was from the press release when Mr. Agnesi joined Gibson:

“I am excited to bring Mark onboard at such a pivotal stage for Gibson,” said Gibson CMO Cesar Gueikian in Gibson’s official...
  7. Re: Small speakers revisited, and we have a new winner: Sony XB-2

How are you using these, Kurt, as an amp for playing out, or as small & accurate studio monitors for recording playback? I'm on the hunt for the latter, so these would be pretty innerestin' if so.

    Re: TI strings

One of the A's on my oval hole was buzzing , so I replaced both the A & E courses with Daddario's, and that solved it. I didn't realize the A's were wound, which now makes sense.

    Re: Replacement Pickup for Mandocaster

I'm working with Cafe member Pete Malinson at Almuse (http://www.almuse.co.uk/mandolin_pickups.html) on a humbucker for my electric tenor guitar. A nicer guy you couldn't hope to meet, and really...

Two young monsters. I'm not familiar with Tristan's work in his dad's band, but both his record with Alisa Rose and his new crosspicking album, "Pretty Boy", are, outstanding.

Re: Another Tenor Guitar from a Squier Mini

Nice work @nelica, these are pretty addicting projects!

Epiphone made an Express series of small guitars as well, based on the Les Paul & SG (hard to find) body shapes. 22" scale. Nice thing is...

@rpalmer, thank you 100x for your effort in making this resource available. I live in the Costa Brava in Spain.

I've been really happy with it - I got a u-bass recently, and it's an excellent way to learn bass parts & variations, having never played bass, along with learning tunes on mandolin. Tons of tunes &...

    Re: Favourite overdrive?

If you're into pedal building the Aion Electronics Nimbus, based on the Maxon OD-820, is super cool.

Re: NMD Gibson pre-1910 H-1 Mandola

Hank, congrats on the score, that is one nice-sounding mandola. Seems like everything is pointing to a risk well taken, and since you've got good luthiers in your area, any of the typical Gibson...

That is a great solution! Is there a breathe-out valve in the downpointing center thing? As a fellow glasses wearer, I would get one of these, if I still had a shop!

    Re: Build A Tenor Guitar
