Re: I don't like F styles. Anyone else?

I have to agree, and maybe even that an arch top F hole instrument can do (chordal) rhythm in a way flat tops and oval holes can’t? Or something like that?

I started a thread about F style mandolin ergonomics asking a somewhat similar question not that long ago and didnít get many responses. Maybe most people donít notice much of a difference? It was...

I played one of those Firefly’s about six years ago and can still remember it being one of the best guitars I’ve ever played, despite me being one of the worst players.

    Would that be a 5-string Mando-cello?

Maybe that terminology falls apart with 5 string/course instruments

Woah Geno, not sure you can bring a fiery thread from 2004 (unintentionally) into 2020 without explosive results! :))

    Great content though

    Re: F-Style vs A-style ergonomics...

Still been thinking of this... noticed at band practice today that the F style seems to favor hanging in a horizontal position, whereas my A styles seem to naturally favor a little more neck up...

Not the Am, but maybe you could get away with it for the A7?

    I do 9735 for Am

2200 (A5) would work for them all, but wouldn’t have the minor 3rd or 7th to give the right color to the tones
