The serial number matches the written date and that is most definitely Danny Roberts signature. It's not a fake in any way.

Love it! Seriously! I can hear the oriental influence along with some Jewish thrown in for the spiritualistic minded. The muted string clicks are actually morse code for "Send help PDQ" "We are...
At least I have one of the original posters. As far as the dvd, I'll believe it when it's made available to the public for purchase.
I have a Kentucky KM-1000 that was built in 1980 and the headstock just says "Kentucky." The KM-1500's said "The Kentucky." They were the top of the line back then.
I can't tell from the pics, but I seem to remember Jesse playing a Wynn for a while.
Two mandolin greats share the same birthday. March 16th. (different years of course)
Tim O'Brien and Ronnie McCoury! :mandosmiley:
I'm there all 3 days. Great lineup on Thursday! A lot of talent and some high dollar mandos.
Happy Birthday to Sam Bush!!! Born on this day back in 1952.....:mandosmiley:
I guess I've tried most every brand of mandolin strings, but I've used D'Addario mainly since 1982. Great strings!

I still use the Golden Gate picks from time to time. They were the original "David Grisman" signature picks back in the 80's. I still have several of those too.
Steffey has won "Mandolin Player of the Year" ten times, but not all in a row. All the winners at the IBMA win by a very slim margin every year.
I'm not sure who it is but it's not Danny Roberts.
Happy Birthday to Sam Bush today!!! :mandosmiley:
Lawson was with the Country Gentlemen exclusively from 1971-79 before forming Quicksilver.
I've had the privilege of playing both of them mandos! Bibey's Loar is a July 9, 1923 (same build day as Bill Monroe's)
YES I would have, and I'm not hiding. I've had this user id for several years now. It's an option here and there are a LOT of members that don't use their real name. Get used to it.
Really?? You don't get out much do you?
