  2. Re: Gibson threatening the mandolin and guitar luthier community

(Flatiron may have actually started in Boulder Colorado in the late '70s. Back-porch productions got into making the army-navy styles (aka pancakes). I think it was after a spell they moved to...

Re: Storage: Case vs Hanging on the Wall

wall hangers go where they belong. Musical instruments go in cases - at least in my house!

Then again, it's easier to find placed to squirrel away cases then places to hang instruments.

Re: Post A picture of your favorite "A" model

I've had the A3 for over 35 years. It's one of my favorites. ('30 L-1 is one of my favorite guitars too!)

Oh yes! Bubba’s! We used to go there!

Every year we go to Frisco, I see the, “Bluegrass Jam” sign on the Pottery Shop. Never been.

Then again I rarely go out. We bring most food in.

Re: Man I need a good tuner...

Just a comment on the Polytune - at least the one I bought, "TC" maybe?

That think only has one degree of freedom on the pivot. It hinges up and down, but not side to side. Irritating!

    Re: Short Neck Mandolin

Re: Do people ever change their strings?

    on the piano? Never!

on the mandolin? Maybe once a year.

I think body chemistry matters, 'cause I don't touch piano strings and I do touch mandolin strings.

    never. Never! NEVER!!

I just don't do it at all! I fly at pitch, I ship at pitch, I store at pitch. My A3 has been to pitch for over 35 years. Same with my 1930 L-1.
