    Re: Dunlop Primetone pick

I've been using Monster Grips for several years. They work great and don't wear out. They're small discs of silicon rubber with built-in tackiness that you can apply to one or both sides of a pick....

    Re: Mandolin ToneRite on guitar?

I used a mandolin Tone-Rite on my Blevins octave which is considerably larger (10" total length) than the Breedlove mandolins I usually play. I attached it between the bridge and tail piece. It...

Re: What instrument is the hardest? My experience

I don't believe I'm coordinated enough to play a pedal steel guitar.

(For what it's worth, the jury's still out on my mandolin playing ability, too,) ♫

Re: Getting mildew off a gig bag

I would never use a chlorine bleach. sblock is right. It will both damge and weaken the fabric as well as discolor it.

    Re: Cords on the ground

I appreciate your using the shorter cords and I try to do likewise but I always have longer cords available. I feel that the fewer connections (plugs), the better: less to go wrong.

    Re: My New Blevins Mandolin

Eddie built an f-style octave mandolin for me and it's great. It was his first octave but it probably won't be his last because he nailed it. I'm thinking about talking to him about a regular...

Delve into wireless, maybe? Depending on the conditions, a snake might clean up some of the wiring.

    Re: Arthritis pain relief

There's probably some truth to that. In my left hand, the fingers are fine, but, the thumb and wrist consistently act as an excellent weather forecaster.

You misunderstood or I "under-explained." Everyone recognizes the standard treatments. It's the others that may be questionable. This is one of those threads we go through every few weeks.

    Re: Photographing shiny things

Lights? Filters? Before you do that, just take the mandolin outside on a bright cloudy day and lean it up against a big tree.

You're selling a mandolin, not trying to gain a spot in the...

Re: In praise of solid body mandolins.

I have a McCormick f-style solid body mandolin. I replaced the original lipstick pickup with a custom Seymour-Duncan. I use it quite frequently.179664

Re: F-Style Mandola case on eBay

F-style octave mandolin cases are also hard to come by. I had to get a custom case from Cedar Creek for my Blevins octave. It's kinda heavy but it's a great case.
