Yeah it is #181. Do you know its story?
My Kimble 2-Point, built in 2010, elicits joy every time I pick it up. I’ve owned it for a little over a year. There is something about it that feels just right. I can’t imagine ever parting with it.
Had such a great time. It was great meeting everyone in person. I'm looking forward to next year!
Super excited about going again. Now to practice the camp song!
I'm trying to see if I can make it happen. Would really, really like to go again. Fingers crossed!
Friendly reminder that this airs on PBS tonight.
Sounds great! Thanks for taking the time to put that together. Look forward to more of these. You seem quite elated!
Concur. Might wait until the case reaches room temperature. But really, just play that thing!
I would like to one day. Maybe it’s strange, but haven’t been able to bring myself to pick up a mandolin that expensive. I usually go during lunch and it’s typically quite crowded in that room. Kinda...
Agreed. Played that one the other day. Definitely a strong one!
That is a really, really tough question. There are currently 139 mandolins, and mandolin family instruments, listed on Carters website. They usually have more in stock than they list on their site as...
Ha! I didn’t spend a lot of time with it. It did seem to be one of the better in that price range. But this stuff is so subjective.
I recently started a new job that’s about a 5 minute drive from...
I played it for a few minutes today. Seems really well built. Had a nice chop. Overall really nice.
Went and played one during lunch today at Artisan Guitars in Franklin. Nice little mandolin with a great set up. Super easy and comfortable to play.
Geoff raises his hand emphatically.
The most mandolins I’ve owned at once was four. Down to two now which are both pretty nice. A Rattlesnake F5 and a Kimble J. Would like to get an oval hole for something different.
Sent you a PM with Ken's email address. He is still making mandolins. I'm considering having one built by him too and we've been emailing back and forth a bit.
There are some photos and videos of these on the Ellis Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ellismandolins/
I look forward to hearing in-person impressions and thoughts!
Looks like Carter Vintage Guitars (CVG) just got a used x-braced Duff in today. NFI.
I'd like to own a Duff one day. I played a few at CVG recently and also heard a bunch of them at Monroe...
This could be a fun thread. Would add the following to the list:

Here are my two. Sitting on the porch waiting on the humidity to go away. Doesn't quite feel like autumn yet.
What a fun game this is. Amp Acquisition Syndrome?
Might as well go ahead and buy a Gilchrist to go with it.
