My 1920 Gibson A2 has a broken pick guard bracket.
Any suggestions for repair <Removed by Moderator, Please limit commerce to the classifieds>
Thanks very much,

It is not a soft case, but I use a Hiscox for my Gibson A2. I think it's the best and it is made in the UK.
And they keep time with their feet differently too!
As a result of reading this thread, I researched and purchased a Silverangel from the Cafe Classifieds (Thanks Jim!). It is #290, built in 2009, A style, and was re-topped by Ken in April '14 with...
I elected to take the Appalachian Mandolin class which Matt taught at the same time as the jazz/swing class. I am a big jazz fan, but thought the jazz/swing class might prove difficult for me...
It is a tribute to the quality of Matt's instruction to read all the good words from fellow students.

I learned about Matt Flinner's online classes in a Cafe ad last spring. I've taken two classes and really like them.
These classes work very well for me and Matt is an excellent teacher. He is...
120516I live in Tulsa and recommend Seth Lee Jones, SLJ guitars. He is in the Mandolin Cafe builder's database. He just re-fretted my 1920 Gibson A2, and did an impeccable job.
There are eight and...
I am 63 and have been playing mandolin for a year and a half (enjoying it immensely!). For about a year I've owned a 2000 Flatiron Performer A, Derrington era I believe. No one signed it - a humble...
Great story. It's so fun for the parents when our kids get recognition!
I have been studying mandolin for about a year and have been learning from "The American Mandolin Method" by Brian Wicklund and Ben Winship. I can't say enough good things about it. Working my way...
If you use an iPhone and are looking for a pendulum style metronome, check out the "Musebook metronome, m30 pendulum style".
I like mine a whole lot.
May I recommend "The American Mandolin Method" by Brian Wicklund and Ben Winship. There are two volumes. I've finished the first and am now on the second. You learn fiddle tunes and the songs are in...
Sugar and Spike
I'd say it was original, but I'm not that good. They are the names of my border collies that I inherited from my dad.
I recently purchased two V Picks to try them out. They were the "Saga" and the "Bull's Eye". They sent for free the "Medium" that was their original pick. They are all different and all work fine for...
I bought a couple of V-Picks recently and they threw in a third pick for free. I like it as much or better than my two choices. Great folks to do business with, highly recommended! Obviously I don't...
I read this post with great interest as I will be taking my mandolin on an airplane ride soon. As I only have a gig bag, I purchased a Hiscox case from Elderly Instruments. A great case and buying...
There is a used Chris Stanley A5 at Mandolin World Headquarters that is definitely worth a look - $2,950.00. http://www.vintagemandolin.com/07stanley_a5_37.html
I own a '00 Flatiron Performer A and...
I wanted to share a couple of photos from the Ridge Runner album "Roland White, I Wasn't Born To Rock And Roll"
I get a kick out of them, and the album is great too!104400104401
I am 62 and have been playing for a few months.
I am truly enjoying it and appreciate the Cafe community very much (think I'll order a coffee cup!).
Glad to be a part of it all!
I am a beginner and am learning from a book: The American Mandolin Method by Brian Wicklund and Ben Winship. It's a Mel Bay publication and is very well thought out. Somewhere in a Cafe thread I read...

Thanks for all this info! The vote is 3 to 3....I'll leave the bridge on and pack carefully.
-Robert
I'm about to ship a mandolin, cardboard box inside a cardboard box, no hard case.
Should I remove the bridge for safety, or is de-tuning it enough?
