  5. Re: Thinking about a Cumberland Acoustics Bridge

I hear more low end with the CA bridge.

However, was the stock bridge properly seated before it was discarded?

CA bridges are wonderful but the magic is in the installation, not construction.

Native Americans weren’t the savages. We were.
  8. Re: Pelican Vault 730 as a Double Mandolin Case

What I see is minimal padding and lots of space for two mandolins to move and bump into things.

Sorry for naysaying, but that picture gives me anxiety. Good luck!

  14. Re: Practicing with Headphones on an Electric Mandolin

Do you need a headphone amp? I primarily play my electric unplugged and find it great for quiet practice.

    Ronnie Stewart fiddle? Oh yeah!

    Ruined relationships? Disagree.

Start fiddling now! It’ll make your mandolining better.

Re: eastman md515 vs loar lh600

IME, there’s a lot of variance in both of those models. I’ve owned good examples of each. My md515 had a sweet but quiet sound. Fit and finish we’re nice. The Loar 600 I had was ugly but loud. A...

    Re: Instrument Insurance Help

Heritage was super easy to set up. No appraisals required (just serial numbers). I have not had to file a claim.

    +1 to faster

    My preference as well.

    Re: Five String Madness

He was discussing how the “same” note might need to be slightly flat to sound right in a certain key. I forget which video but it was not a analysis of the “circle” of fifths.

    So, do fan frets...

Interesting. I subscribe to Chad Manning’s fiddle course at Peghead Nation and he discusses this in a simpler way.

Still, do theoretical tools need to align perfectly with equal temperament? Do...
