    Download a tab that has a lot of the things that baffle you and then work backwards by studying how the author accomplished the programming.

    The monotonous bass drives me crazy on the apps. I like to make a TABLEDIT file and export a MIDI into APPLE LOGIC PRO and finally to very tempo I use TRANSCRIBE!

    As Don says in #53 Listen to each interval, stopping at each one. Inventory what feeling, vibe or effect each note yields. A 6th, for example may sound happy or swingy, a 2nd or 9th consonant but...
