  5. Re: What instrument is the hardest? My experience

For me it was the fiddle. My wife told me either the fiddle or me were going to sleep in the outhouse, it was my choice. I think the fiddle is still there.

    Re: Martin vs D'Addario Strings

Used J74's for years but got turned on to Elixir nano-web and love them. They sound great and last longer than any strings I have tried. No financial interest here.
  8. Re: Did you catch the Ken Burns Country Music series opening?

Yep, tell me one thing Ken Burns has done that was not first class.
  9. Re: Charles Johnson - Mandolin World Headquarters

Agree with all the above. I got a 1916 Gibson A 4 from him a couple of years ago. Very nice man, a lot of integrity and great to deal with.
  10. Poll: Re: Poll for Song a Week Social Group Week #504

"Don't Let The Old Man In" by Toby Keith. You can find it on YouTube with a neat story on how the song came to be.
  11. Re: Hypothetical high dollar mando purchase question...

I would call Randy Wood and have him make you one. I did back in l993 and have not regretted it for one second.

    Re: Expensive mandolins

I bought my Randy Wood F 5 simply because I wanted a good mandolin. This was back in 1993 so it was somewhat affordable back then. Never regretted the expense.
