So sad to hear. We have lost too many musicians in the last year.
The first time I met Peter, he sang a couple of Hank William's songs for me. Completely in Ukrainian. Later that day I ate Red...

We removed mine on the rhinestone Loar. Just pulled a fret and sawed through the fret slot. I don’t remember if it was Randy Wood or Danny Ferrington
I would love to try some V-picks.
Thank You!
Back in the 70's I carried a 5th of Sour Mash Whiskey in one side(which fit perfectly) of my Loar case and a loaded 38 on the other.
I never had any problems!
Hi Big Joe
Great to hear from you! I will be in town at the end of the month. I'll try and make it out to see you.
Thanks

In the liner notes - "Nanook of the North", "Reelfoot Reel", and Monroe's Farewell to Long Hollow" were written and taught to me by Bill Monroe.
On the record - Credits Bill Monroe but no BMI or...
I saw a F4 Lefty at McCabe's back in the early 80's. If I remember right it belonged to one of the owners. When he opened the case, the F4 was in there upside down. It was a little mind-blowing...
My thoughts and prayers to Charlie's family. And also to Danny, Big Joe, & all at Gibson. #Charlie was always good to me & helped me more than once. #I had great respect for him. #I know Big Mon...
I learned it from the sheet music that came out when I was a kid. I always loved to play it. It was in E flat. That's where I still like to play it.
For mandolins I've found that:
Low humidity to high himidity = sharp
Low temp to high temp = flat
and vice versa
Back in the early 80’s Bill played my mandocello for about 15 minutes. #It was between takes in the studio. #It was quite a sight. #I wish I had a photo of that.
#Also it was great fun to have Red...
I appreciate the advice
THANK YOU
Looking for an experienced repairman in the Kansas City area.

Here are the lyrics from a Ernest Tubb recording. #I think this is close to the way Hartford sang it.

I have a recording of "I AM A PILGRIM" from 1958 when Ed Mayfield was in the band.
Early this year a Fender Custom Shop quoted me a list price of $5600 & actual price of $4500. I laughed. I thought he was kidding me. Even a price of $2400 dosen't interest me.
I've used a split nut(bone G&D - ebony A&E) for over 25 years on my F5. I hasn't worn much. But, I put some lead from a pencil in there every other string change.

The rhinestones were on 75940 when I bought it. I almost didn't buy it because of them. I remember at one point a jeweler in Nashville thought they might be white sapphires, but couldn't tell without...
